Yes, it’s two weeks’ salary. How many people at any level of income have donated that?

I’m not sure what has shocked me more – that I’ve gotten a 5-bagger out of SPWR in 9 months or that you & I agree on MB.

And even though I’m a happy (albeit very small) DIS investor, I’m very sad for all the ESPN staffers being let go…UNLESS one of those heading out the door is Merril HOGEBAG. In 40 years, the journalism-media worlds have seen higher highs (Watergate) & lower lows (Hoge, “reality TV”) than any occupation I can think of. It’s become a penny stock.

Just saw Meg Ryan in a recent movie I (a.) didn’t realize had been in theatres and (b.) don’t remember much else about besides … her lip injections. These people, especially prominent people, they do understand that we notice when they change the way their face looks, and the acknowledge of that change always outweighs whatever positive gain there was to be had, right?

I saw ISHTAR in the movie theater; a “private showing” per se as nobody else had bought a ticket. I thought it was a riot although I never quite got used to hearing my laughter booming back at me in the empty theater.

I ducked into Explore Booksellers on a rainy afternoon in Aspen, CO a few summers ago, and serendipitously met Vanity Fair author Mark Seal. He has carved out an admirable niche investigating and exposing the most egregious fabricators in history. In that regard, it appears Pistorious will be notorious.

OKC losing without Westbrook is like Chicago without Derrick Rose. It’s like there is an asterisk affixed to each team departing the playoffs. It’s slowly killing off any expectations I had of the Heat being genuinely challenged in the postseason.

Pleeeeze tell me a band of masked “robbers” goes from table to table collecting the “loot” from all those fat kitties at the ‘Belmont Stakes’ of galas. MeeeOOOWW!

Every time I click over to watch TNT’s own Merry Men, Shaq keeps trying to get Charles to engage in some kind of bet/physical contest. My fave Chuck response was that if Shaq kept it up, he would NEVER vote Shaq into the Hall.

If I was a Bruin fan & watched last night, I probably would have fainted (or had a visit from the police for ‘disturbing my neighbors from all the yellin’). If I had turned off the game a little early thinking another season was over (1-4, 1-4, in the 3RD?!!!) & found out this morning what had happened in the end, I would have had a stroke. Lesson – it’s risky business being a Bruin fan.
